Stanbridges Hobby Shop was established in 1948 in Perth, Western Australia by Jack Stanbridge who sold model trains - we are proud to continue the tradition.
Stanbridges Hobby Shop has specialist staff in all areas of the shop with two mechanics in the radio control area. We stock a large range of model train sets, radio control (including nitro), model kits, diecast, plastic kits and wooden kits.
Stanbridges has a dedicated plastic kits and wooden ships room, dedicated rooms for model trains, diecast, dollhouses and also for slot cars.
We believe in providing the best service possible and will try to find and source hobby items not readily available for our customers.
Stanbridges Hobby Shop was established in 1948 in Perth, Western Australia by Jack Stanbridge. Jack was passionate about model trains and Meccano and today we are proud to continue that tradition. Since those early days the shop has grown considerably.
Jack first started out in Victoria Park and moved to Mt Lawley in the mid 1960's. In the early 1980's the shop moved into its current location. Stanbridges Hobby Shop is made up of 6 old shops that date back to the 1920's, and 4 houses that date back to 1895.
We extended the shop in November 2003 to have a dedicated plastic kits and wooden ships room, with double the space for R/C as well as extra room for slot cars and diecast models.
In November 2005 we extended the shop again and we opened our new model train room - it is 50% bigger and has enabled us to improve our displays in slot cars, die-cast, plastic kits, magazines, metal centre and R/C.
In November 2008 we extended the shop yet again. This time we added a die-cast room and gave more space to telescopes, rockets and doll houses. We were then able to spread out the R/C area considerably.
Over the course of 2011 and 2012, council upgrades to Mt Lawley saw brand new paving laid down outside the shop as well as outdoor customer seating. The Mt Lawley train station was also upgraded, making your public transport to Stanbridges Hobbies even better.
