| Which track is which - SCALEXTRIC, SCX, NINCO? |
|
Scalextric after 40 years of making the old plastic track decided in 2003 to change the texture and the way the track joins together. The track is the same width and smoother which allows a better grip.
There is also a deeper slot for the guide pin.
The join has been changed to enable the track to be put together and pulled apart more easily.
The old track - which is still available is called "Classic" and the new track is called "Sport".
There is an adaptor track (Code C8222) to join the different types together.
The new Scalextric electronic lap counter/timer includes the adaptor track.
SCX track joins directly onto the old Scalextric Classic track.
Ninco is wider than Scalextric / SCX however it enables F1 cars to corner together.
The Ninco chicane will join Scalextric Classic and SCX track together.
All Scalextric sets with the new Sport track now have braking built into the hand controls.
This is an option on most SCX sets and standard on all Ninco sets.
Carrera track cannot be adapted to any other track.
We stock a complete range of Scalextric, SCX and Ninco Track. Carrera track is available to customer order.
All the cars in the 1/32 scale?Scalextric, SCX, Fly, Ninco, Spirit, Carrera and Revell will run on all of the above tracks - with the exclusion of the Trucks by FLY and Go-Karts by Ninco which will only run on Carrera and Ninco track because they are too wide for the narrower Scalextric and SCX track. |
