Radio Control Park Flyers

Park Flyers are electric planes that are designed to be flown with little or no wind. They generally come with radio installed, battery for the plane and a charger. Other batteries for the transmitter may be required. Please check with the shop for further details.

Planes such as the Scout, Yellow Bee or Dragon Fly are highly recommended for beginners. Parts are readily available for all the Park Flyers we sell however these planes are NOT indestructible and it may get to a stage after a very heavy crash that they are not worth repairing. YOU WILL CRASH no matter how good you think you are at flying!

2 Channel planes will not do loops. 3 Channel planes will do loops. 2 Channel planes are recommended for beginners. Practice and get a 2 Channel plane under control before attempting a 3 Channel plane. The 2 Channel planes are cheap to buy and repair.

To fly a Radio Controlled Aircraft it is highly recommended that you learn on a high wing trainer plane. These are designed to be stable in flight and as forgiving as possible for the learner.

Radio Control Gas Planes

It is also highly recommended that you join a club to learn how to fly a gas plane and only fly in approved areas. STANBRIDGES have available a club contact list -see the clubs page

- there are over 25 aeromodellers clubs throughout the state.

Once you have mastered the trainer then you can advance to mid-wing, low wing and bi-planes. The engine and radio that you start with can be transferred into the other kit. All of the starting gear, fuel and associated items can also be used for the other plane.

The cost that can be expected to be incurred to get a 4 channel plane airborne is considerably more than a Park Flyer.

Radio Control Helicopters

Helicopters are not easy to fly - you need to concentrate.

The Counter Rotating Blade Helicopters by Venom are perfect to start flying with. Because they do not have a tail rotor - they use 2 main rotors turning in opposite directions - they are much more stable. Once you have master one of the Counter Rotating Helicopters you can then try something more challenging like the 3D helicopters that will fly inverted - upside down.

Radio Control Gas Plane Kits

Numerous plane kits are available to learn on - and even more are available once you know how to fly. Ask the staff if you have a request for a particular plane and they will see if its is available.
