James May Toy Stories
On SBS this Friday at 7.30pm

The start of a must see series:

Airfix - James May is out to prove why traditional, old fashioned toys are still relevant today when he pushes them to the limit in spectacular, supersize challenges. From full-size Lego houses to bridges made completely of Meccano, he shows what they are capable of. In this first episode, James takes his model aeroplanes to a new level when he tries to make a full-size Spitfire out of Airfix.

What is new.
This time of the year things are usually a little quiet on the hobby front but that does not mean there is nothing new on the market. We are always being asked what is new and has just come into stock. We have over 100,000 items listed on our computer and that number is always expanding.

There are always plenty of plastic kits arriving - new this week is a range from Trumpeter including some 1/35 scale military vehicles as well as 1/32 scale Tomcats and Super Hornets and also a range of 1/700 scale warships.

Catalogues, Catalogues, Catalogues
The availability of catalogues by the various suppliers to the hobby industry has always been a little scarce. The internet has meant that some suppliers have stopped producing them altogether and solely rely on the internet as a way of advising what is new or about to be released.

There are still many suppliers who produce a Glossy Catalogue. Hornby, Scalextric, Bachmann, Meccano. These catalogues cost alot to produce and suppliers always charge for them. If there are any that you wish to purchase then please ask at the shop but please be advised that most catalogues do not start to become available untill the end of March.
